Description

This property consists of a very old bread oven (1658) that was renovated and converted into a vacation rental in 2020. Added to it are a residential house and a barn built 200 years ago as part of a farmhouse complex. Then there is a small house—likely for farmhands—which was converted into a guesthouse in 2020. We have added a travel trailer to this “little hamlet,” as well as a second floor in the barn, which serves as a dormitory or activity room.

Showers and restrooms have been built in the barn to accommodate groups and guests staying in the trailer. In the winter, the bathroom in the bread oven—accessible only from the outside—is shared by guests staying in the trailer and the bread oven guesthouse.

Surrounded by meadows, pastures, forest, and a vegetable garden, it is a place of respite where you can breathe in the calm and greenery.

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments

At our property, we sort our waste: compost (or chickens) for organic waste, with recycling bins available; we keep residual waste to a minimum.

One of the two cottages is equipped with a dry toilet; the other restrooms are supplied with well water.

To conserve water, we’ve chosen to install small 15-liter water heaters in each cottage, which allow for a good shower while limiting waste.

Electricity is generated on-site by solar panels; we ask visitors to use energy responsibly.

We are an LPO sanctuary. So no cats here...

We have partnered with Agir pour l’Environnement to designate our property as a biodiversity reserve for 99 years. This requires commitments from us (and our visitors): no nighttime lighting, respect for silence (no noise pollution), a single designated area for campfires, respect for natural habitats, a ban on cutting down century-old trees or removing hedgerows, and a requirement to farm according to organic principles… These are all values we believe are important and that we strive to put into practice every day.
