Large ecological farmhouse

Benvenguda a la bòrda! We welcome you to a large house in the heart of our market-garden and fruit-growing farm, where the calm of growing plants reigns, sometimes enlivened by the song of our geese frolicking in their large pond. As our house is almost adjoining, we'll be able to guide you, when the farm's work permits, so that your stay is enriched by all that the Couserans has to offer.

The gîte is an old stone house that was completely renovated in 2024. Materials have been carefully chosen. Terracotta on the first floor adds color to the rooms, which are adorned with exposed stone and lime plaster. On the upper floors, chestnut and oak woods lend a warm atmosphere to the rooms, while the walls in colored earth and rounded curves subtly match the stones that support them, leaving a few blocks to appear here and there. Ceilings and partitions are insulated with natural materials, providing good thermal and acoustic comfort. A wood-fired boiler fuelled by local logs heats domestic hot water, the first floor and radiators on the upper floors. No chemicals here! A healthy interior in which you feel good. Ecology is also non-negotiable for us, and you'll surely learn to appreciate our 3-star dry toilets (with urine separator and active ventilation).

The first floor is spacious, with an entrance hall, a large fully-equipped kitchen and a magnificent oak worktop, whose central island can host your happy aperitifs while you try your hand at cooking a local dish, such as couserannais azinat. The adjoining living room and dining room are ideal for a large, convivial feast for up to 14 guests, while the large bay windows immerse you in a verdant setting. A ground-level "Mineral" bedroom with a double bed avoids the need for stairs for careful sleepers.

The second floor provides access to the small "Terre de feu" double bedroom, the dry toilet, the large bathroom and the "Horizon bucolique" bedroom. The latter offers a commanding view over part of the farm, and includes a double bed and a sofa bed. The lobby offers additional space for reading or playing games. The second floor is a large mezzanine dormitory with 6 single beds. It has a central area for children's games, yoga sessions or other activities.

Several walks are possible from the farm: Tour de ferme (20 min), Chemin des châtaigniers (45 min), Ascension du Tuc du Montcalivert (1h30). We'll provide you with a map or GPS route planner. Saint-Girons and its incredible market are 5km away. From here, you'll have access to the 18 mountain valleys of the Couserans. The Palais des Evêques tourist site is just a stone's throw away (4km). The Guzet Neige ski resort is a 50-minute drive away. Numerous nature activities, festivals and festivities are offered mainly during the summer season.

Beds will be made up on arrival. Towels, household linen and end-of-stay cleaning are included. As our sanitation system uses vegetable filtration, only environmentally-friendly products are allowed. That's why we provide you with ecological hygiene and cleaning products.
