Description

Camping on a farm with trees, in the heart of a collective farm, where you'll meet lots of animals and grow food.

Located in Bazougers in the Mayenne department, the Arc en ciel farm is a 100-hectare complex cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods.


Initiated in 1995 by a founding couple, the farm and our team have transformed and developed over the years to arrive at its current form: a collective farm developing several production workshops and organized around a 10-person GAEC (Groupement Agricole Exploitation en Commun).


Breeder, market gardener, baker, cheesemaker, animator, we are passionate about biodiversity and the bocage, and we have at heart to realize a subsistence agriculture respectful of soils, fauna and flora but also of human beings, that's why we pay particular attention to the quality of the farm products we offer.


- CHEESE: raw milk "Gouda" type, made with milk from our herd of hardy "Frisonne" cows.

- BREADS and FLOUR: made from our ancient cereals (wheat, spelt, einkorn, rye, etc.) Our bread is made with natural sourdough and baked in a wood-fired oven.

- VEGETABLES: we grow some forty seasonal vegetables, mainly from seeds of ancient varieties.

- MEAT: we raise a dozen pigs, who make the most of the leftovers from our processing workshops: whey from the cheese dairy, bran from the grain mill, assembled salads...


We like to share and communicate about our work, our choices and our values. You can come and meet us in our farm store, located right in the heart of the farm, or take advantage of our wooded campsite...

Located in Bazougers in the Mayenne department, the Arc en ciel farm is a 100-hectare complex cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods.



Initiated in 1995 by a founding couple, the farm and our team have transformed and developed over the years to arrive at its current form: a collective farm that develops several production workshops and is organized around a GAEC (Groupement Agricole Exploitation en Commun) made up of 10 people: 5 co-managers and 5 employees.

For four years (2021-2025), a nursery school called Les Pieds dans l'herbe has lived on the farm. Plunging children into the heart of the living world through observation and relationships with plants and animals was at the heart of this project inspired by nature-based education. Due to lack of enrolment, the school had to close its doors in 2025.

Every summer, we welcome groups for mini-camps and camps to discover farm trades.


Nevertheless, human links, family and childhood are an integral part of our farm project, as most of us have chosen to live on site and thus cultivate a social and cultural life among ourselves.

Territory description

La ferme Arc en Ciel is a collective farm with a team of 5 partners and employees, a herd of Friesian dairy cows, a cheese dairy that produces raw milk gouda with a natural rind, fields of ancient cereals, a bakery equipped with a stone mill and a wood-fired oven, and a market-gardening workshop with lots of friendly, seasonal vegetables! Campsite with 6 pitches, a store selling local produce: Tuesdays and Fridays 4pm/6.30pm and Saturdays 9am/12pm: vegetables, cheese, bread, flour, pork, beef...
