Description
La Ferme des Bédailles is an agro-ecological micro-farm located in Cornier, Haute-Savoie, France, based on a human-scale project combining small-scale farming and hospitality. Located on a former family farm, it is part of a progressive approach that respects the site, living organisms and people.
The farm is conceived as a simple, lived-in space, where daily life as a farmer structures the life of the place. The nurturing garden, the developing orchard and the presence of animals help to create a living, calm and welcoming environment, conducive to soothing and reconnecting with concrete landmarks.
The farm is a living place, shaped by agroecological practices and market gardening on living soil, where attention to the earth, the soil and the seasons is central. Farm work, everyday gestures and respect for natural rhythms give the place a simple, authentic atmosphere that naturally supports welcoming and shared time.

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments
At La Ferme des Bédailles, our eco-responsible commitments are part of a continuum of practices and lifestyle choices that predate the farm's project. They are based on a quest for coherence on a day-to-day basis, without any logic of performance or emphasis.
Farming practices are guided by the principles of agroecology and market gardening on living soil. Soil cultivation is limited and carried out non-mechanically, by hand, respecting the structure and life of the soil. Fertility is based on observation, rotation, organic inputs and support for natural balances.
Crops are protected and cared for using agricultural phytotherapy: fermented extracts, purins, infusions and macerates of plants, used in a preventive or targeted way.
Water management is based on the recovery and valorization of available resources: rainwater recovery in the former manure pit, use of two existing wells, and economical watering systems (micro-suction hoses and oyas). Dry toilets are used on the farm.
Biodiversity is taken into account in a realistic way, adapted to a very lively site that is heavily occupied by the garden and animals. Dry hedges are in place and being installed. Floral and natural areas are maintained around the edges of the market garden and greenhouse. Mowing is carefully considered, with attention paid to the site's uses and constraints.
Animal welfare is a daily concern, through an attentive presence, appropriate living conditions and respectful relationships.
Food and daily habits are part of a long-standing personal approach: home-made cooking, vegetarian diet since 2012, choice of organic products, and attention paid for many years to reducing pollution in daily life.
These commitments are not claimed as a model, but lived as a matter of course. They form the basis of the farm's operations and the hospitality offered, in a spirit of simplicity, respect for the living world and loyalty to the choices made long ago.
