The herbal farm

Description

Chambre d'hôte ("Accueil Paysan" label) in Périgord Noir on a small organic farm (red berries, medicinal plants and forest garden). It's a kind of Ecolieu, self-sufficient and protected by ORE (Obligation réelle environnementale) status. We welcome woofers all year round, with whom we enthusiastically share our practices and experiments. On the 2.5 hectares of meadow, we use "rotational grazing" to enrich the soil, and on the wooded area we have created a sort of meditative path dotted with quotations related to the living world and also educational.

Creation of a forest garden and a mandala garden. Use of dry toilets, solar showers and geo-purification.

Our priority on arriving on the site was to improve the soil and increase biodiversity (hedge planting, no regular mowing, but creation of paths, troglodytes, etc.) Agroforestry work on the farm and experiments in syntropy.

We are keen to share our way of life with you, according to your requests and in the form of workshops or visits.

We have three donkeys, a dog, a cat and chickens.

Rental period from April to October. Possibility of accommodating 2 guest rooms + one camper van and tent pitches currently being approved.

Mauzens et Miremont, a small village typical of the Périgord Noir region, is particularly well situated in the Dordogne. It's exactly 14 minutes from the prehistoric sites of the Vézère valley (including the fabulous site of Les Eyzies de Tayac, where many cave visits are possible), 9 km from the national prehistory museum, 37 minutes from the Lascaux caves and the superb village of Sarlat. Lots of activities on the outskirts.

Full organic breakfast included and hearty organic vegetarian meals (or picnics) available on request, with fresh organic produce from the garden according to season (vegan and/or gluten-free also possible).

Outside, free access to the natural pond, forest garden and Mandala garden, forest walks along the meditative path, herbal tea room and open raw-earth kitchen (with Rocket Stove), as well as a shaded terrace. Donkey rides (with packsaddle or carriage) available on request. We offer a range of individual and group workshops (yoga, meditation, edible/medicinal plant outings, healthy cooking, etc.), as well as harmonizing massages and Kansu by appointment with people trained in these practices.
