After a 20-minute drive from Foix, you reach the bottom of the hundred steps leading up to Bardol... like a small temple clinging to the mountain, amid enchanting woods, the hamlet surprises with its labyrinth of staircases, terraced gardens, cool nooks around pools, tall chestnut trees, and the continuous song of the river.
