Description

Le Jardin de la Vouivre was established in 2020, continuing a family tradition. We settled on land cultivated for seven generations by Charlotte's family in the heart of the Bresse region of Burgundy, after 13 years living in Guadeloupe.

Our eco-village now comprises 2.2 hectares of land divided between orchards, vegetable gardens, and pastures for Solognote sheep. Our table d'hôte features produce from our own farm and from local producers in our region.

On the ground floor of our farmhouse, you will also find our natural and organic cosmetics laboratory. This is where Charlotte will welcome you for a cosmetics or soap-making workshop.

For accommodation, we have two caravans: Esmé, our pride and joy, built by us and based on the model of circus directors' caravans from the 1930s, and Polly, a small Irish horse-drawn caravan. You'll also find a trapper's tent for a peaceful and eco-friendly immersion in our environment. Its terrace is ideal for gazing at the summer night sky. Our three accommodations are arranged around our educational pond, where nature lovers can admire a typical Bresse ecosystem.

Our place is dedicated to preserving life and fostering openness to the world. We practice agroecology and always enjoy sharing this culture.

Inspired by the age-old healing properties of plants, from the Caribbean where I lived for many years to the plains of Bresse, …

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments

Our entire property is managed according to agroecological principles. In our vegetable gardens, we minimize tilling, encourage beneficial insects, practice sustainable hedgerow maintenance, and do not use pesticides. Our flock of sheep grazes outdoors, respecting their natural life cycles.

Our guesthouse uses only products from our farm and those from local producers. We source as many organic products as possible.

Our accommodations are equipped with composting toilets and constructed wetlands.

The cosmetics laboratory uses only organic and fair trade products.

Finally, the site's electricity is partially supplied by the farm's solar panels.

  • Insulation with natural or recycled materials
  • Avoid use of non-rechargeable batteries
  • Low consumption lighting and electrical appliances
