Description

Our house is a 14th-century silkworm farm, perched at the top of a Cévennes valley (540m altitude), amid chestnut and holm oak trees, in a landscape of valleys and small schist cliffs.

It's also a Mecca of the French Resistance.

Like all Cevennes houses, it was built on the rock, using dry stone.

At the bottom of the valley flows our little Gardon de St Martin.

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments

Having arrived on the farm in 2017, over the years we have been implementing solutions to improve our land: no fertilizers or chemical inputs in our gardens, use of manure from our animals.

Water management is a crucial point, as we live on a source that is not inexhaustible.

We are gradually installing dry toilets in the gîtes and at home, mulching the garden, watering sparingly and recovering as much waste water as possible.

We fully adhere to the commitments of the Nature et Progrès charter, practicing sustainable and responsible agriculture.
