Description

A railway heritage brought back to life

Tourneuve railway station bears witness to a bygone era when railroads linked our countryside to the rest of the world. This former station was part of the Marmande - Mont-de-Marsan line, inaugurated on December 14, 1875, a strategic rail route that crossed the whole of south-west France.

For those of you who knew the station from the days when trains still passed through and, a little later, hunters used to meet here, you won't recognize it. This heritage-friendly metamorphosis has transformed an abandoned site into a family haven.

The soul of a place preserved

Our station has retained its authentic character: the generous volumes of the railway buildings, the typical architecture of the late 19th century, and that special atmosphere that emanates from places steeped in history. On the first floor, a very large and welcoming room recalls the days when passengers and railwaymen would meet in this "salle des pas perdus", and we have preserved the glass roof of the ticket offices.

A green setting in the heart of Les Landes

Located in the heart of Allons, the department's largest forested commune with 76,000 hectares, our station is bathed in an ocean of greenery. The former platforms are now overgrown with lush vegetation, creating a wild garden where nature has reclaimed its rights. The proximity of the Tourneuve stronghold adds a further historical dimension to our surroundings.

Between heritage and modernity

The refurbishment of the station has combined respect for heritage with modern comfort. Today, this family-run residence offers an exceptional living environment where the history of the railways meets the tranquility of the Lot-et-Garonne countryside.

A living memorial

More than just a place to stay, our station is an open-air history book. Every stone tells the epic story of the rural railroad, the revolution that opened up our countryside. The old train timetables still resonate in the imagination, evoking a time when time had a different rhythm, more human, more contemplative.

This is the spirit in which we welcome you: with the generosity of former railwaymen and the passion of those who know that the most beautiful journeys begin with an authentic encounter. For the curious, I'll tell you why the station is in the middle of the woods, 5km from the village...

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments

Our eco-responsible commitments

A station that cultivates energy autonomy: The refurbishment of our station is part of a resolutely ecological approach. Our photovoltaic solar panels transform the energy of the Lot-et-Garonne sun into clean electricity, considerably reducing our carbon footprint. This energy autonomy is also a symbol: that of a place that draws on local natural resources.

Precious blue gold: Water, a precious resource, is the focus of all our attention. Our rainwater recovery systems enable us to water the gardens.

The authentic charm of wood-fired heating: Most of our homes are heated with wood, giving them the authentic warmth of yesteryear. This choice is not only ecological - using local forest resources - it also creates that warm, friendly atmosphere that is the soul of a true welcome. Nothing beats the crackle of a log fire to create those special moments of sharing with our guests.

Gardening in harmony with nature: My approach to gardening reflects these same values: composting organic waste, using natural fertilizers, preserving local biodiversity and respecting natural cycles. No pesticides, no chemical fertilizers - just careful observation of what nature has been teaching us for millennia.

The circular economy in everyday life: recycling, repairing, reusing... These everyday gestures are part of our art of living. The old station itself is a perfect example of this philosophy: giving a second life to a neglected heritage rather than building something new. This approach is reflected in every aspect of our welcome.

A preserved territory: Living in the heart of the largest forested commune in the department reminds us every day of the importance of preserving our natural spaces. Our recommendations for discovery always emphasize respect for local flora and fauna, and the practice of gentle tourism that allows you to discover without damaging.

Together, let's cultivate a form of tourism that takes care of the planet and future generations!
