Former restaurateurs, lacto-fermentation enthusiasts, lovers of food, travel and people, Sophie and Cyprien will be delighted to welcome you to their old farmhouse, which they are gradually renovating. Originally from Belgium, they settled on this piece of paradise in March 2021. Since then, they've been Normans at heart.

What brings two Belgians to Orne to ferment and welcome people? It's not Covid, even if the latter, in its debauchery of restrictions on freedoms, has reinforced our choice.

We felt it was time to live more by consuming less. Our eyes were already open and we no longer wanted to suffer the direction this world was taking, but to become ACTIVITIES.

Reflecting on our actions, especially those we don't do.

TO DO. With our hands, our arms, our heads. BE, fully, every day. LIVE in a place close to nature, where we know our neighbors, where we can hear the birds and look at the trees.

Here, we're relearning to live on the basis of solidarity and mutual aid. At l'Oisiveraie, we love people of all colors and backgrounds. We believe in people. In their social capacities. We want to do them good, so that they leave here with a smile on their face. We do this with what we love best: COOKING. Food is the basis of everything and its balance is essential to our mood and health. It, too, is meant to be all things to all people. It reminds us of our travels and the different cultures of this world. It soothes the stomach and relaxes the mind. Not forgetting the bacteria, of course!

In fact, we're all one with the living world, both visible and invisible. We learn, we cultivate, we try. Sometimes we fail, but that's part of the game. In fact, that's what it's all about: we play. A different game from the politics of today, which often make us want to cry. Our cries become cries. Not cries of distress, but cries for others to open their eyes, to be less alone and live better in this beautiful world.
