As an educator with 25 years of experience, I understand how important it is for young people in the care of child protective services to have access to support that allows them to develop their individual potential. Here, I offer programs tailored to the children, designed in collaboration with them and based on their interests.
Sometimes I am joined by my daughter, Mairéad, who has been an educator for four years. Her presence provides an alternative perspective in guiding the group and selecting educational materials.
Lo Camino is an educational facility offering restorative stays, individualized support, and respite periods tailored to children and adolescents facing social, educational, or psychological challenges.
The project is based on:
- a relationship of trust,
- learning to live with challenges,
- rural and outdoor activities,
- tailored support,
- the development of the young person’s skills through hands-on experience.
The proposed framework aims to provide a supportive, safe, and calming environment, allowing the young person to regain their bearings, rebuild their confidence, and reconnect with others.
My daily activities focus on rural pursuits, including gardening, raising farm animals, DIY projects, fishing, foraging, and more... In addition, the farmers’ network facilitates partnerships that are of interest to young people (beekeeping, market gardening, livestock farming, horticulture, etc.), helping them become more aware of the world around them.
