This charming habitat on wheels offers an intermediary level of comfort between the bedroom and the campsite.
It was my uncle who braved the sharp bends in the little road leading downhill to bring this big caravan here and make it his nest for a while. He then bequeathed it to the farm, which can now offer it to you!
Amenities are available at the campsite's sanitary block, approx. 200m away: shower, washbasins, toilets, garbage cans... (see campsite section), but for sleeping, you have mattresses and a roof over your head. You also have crockery and basic kitchen equipment, a small fridge and a double gas burner for cooking. Electricity is available. A sink is available outside for washing up and brushing your teeth: the water is not potabilized (drinking water at the sanitary block). In front of the caravan, find a table and benches shaded by the canisses of the arbour.
The caravan sleeps two adults (120 cm double bed) and up to two children (two small bunk beds). It is also possible to sleep one or two people in a nearby tent.
Blankets are provided, but you'll need to bring your own sheets and towels. However, I can provide them for an extra charge.
Arrival times: 5pm to 6:30pm. Exceptions possible in case of problems, of course!
2 evenings a week, from July 20 to around August 20 (to be confirmed), you'll be offered organic-vegetable meals by "Chez Jeannette".
Breakfast available every day, on request the day before.

About us
Our eco-responsible and farming commitments
For over 50 years, the La Baraque farm has been committed to an ecological approach (and has been a member of the Nature & Progrès network from the outset), rebuilding and rehabilitating its land to promote biodiversity. This includes first and foremost the soils, which were in a sorry state (virtually uncultivated) when the estate was taken over by pine trees. We had to bring back deciduous trees and recreate humus. This has now been achieved, and the high level of organic matter in our agricultural soils enables us to produce a large number of good vegetables, while we naturally continue to cultivate our land in a way that is as respectful of living organisms as possible.

Our stay rules
Dogs allowed under strict conditions: as the caravan is close to nature, wild animals may roam around at night, so you'll need to be sure that this doesn't cause your dog to bark. To avoid any problems, dogs are only allowed on one camping pitch (including caravan and tipi) at any one time. As elsewhere, owners are asked to pick up after their dogs, and to keep them on a leash around the farm, in view of the presence of livestock. If the dog enters the caravan, it must sleep in a basket and not climb onto the bed or bench.
Fire safety :
Smoking is permitted only outside the caravan, and always with an ashtray to hand (a glass jar is provided).
Camping gases are the only flames authorized for cooking. All fires are strictly forbidden on the campsite or in the surrounding countryside, even by the river!

How to get here?
Warning: there are two "chemin de la baraque". The one not to be taken (not passable all the way) starts in a neighboring commune and is a dirt track. The GPS sometimes sends you on it, so don't listen to them.
The "chemin de la baraque", which is the right one, starts from the D51 between Aujac and Bedousses bas. It's a single-lane tarmac road that's 3km long, but seems to be twice as long when you're not used to it ;-) The tarmac becomes dirt for the last 50-100m only.
The nearest train station is Génolhac, half an hour away. If you don't have your own means of transport, I can pick you up by car for a fee.

La Baraque organic farm
Characteristic farm of the Cévennes, organic - AB/ Nature & Progress - for 45 years (2nd generation on the site): 1/ 2ha of vegetable gardens and fruit terraces trad. The Parc de Saint-Hilaire is a rural setting with a wild and rural environment, and is a place for some animals (donkeys, sheep). Camping 6 empl. (1 tipi, 1 caravan, 1 empl van), sanitary block with dry toilets. 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms (access kitchen possible). A cottage 6 places (and more). Originality, comfort and simplicity of the accommodation, generosity of the vegetation. Beautiful river nearby.

Alt. 350m. Isolated place, open valley. Access by small winding road of 3.5km, which can seem long the 1st time. Near the Mont Lozère. Zone of adhesion of the National Park of the Cévennes. Mediterranean climate. Aujac to 15mn. Shops to 30mn. Alès to 1h. River to 15mn to feet.
