Description

We welcome you to our quiet, secluded gîte in the heart of the wild Estéron valley.

Our farm is located in the Estéron valley, in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Préalpes d'Azur. We moved here in 1995, and for several years now we've been committed to agro-ecology, self-sufficiency and diversification on our farm, in order to be more resilient and adapt to the effects of climate change.

Our gîte is attached to the family home, but totally independent. You'll find a bedroom, a sleeping area, a kitchen/dining area, as well as a shaded terrace to enjoy the landscape and birdsong.

If you're interested in farming, the gîte is at the heart of the farm, so you can follow our rhythm of life and talk to us about our work.

If you're more into sport and the great outdoors, you'll find plenty of walks, canyoning, climbing and river swimming (with an introductory walk), starting from the gîte or within a few kilometers.

We set up in 1995 in the Esteron valley, on Jean-Claude's family farm. From the outset, we were committed to organic farming, mainly beekeeping, and then developed our activity with a small flock of ewes.

How to get here?

To reach us, it takes 1h30 from Nice or Grasse, bearing in mind that the last few kilometers have a lot of curves!

VIA SISTERON/DIGNE

Leaving Sisteron, take the RN 85 through Château Arnoux and Digne to Barème. At Barème

turn left towards St André les Alpes, Nice. Follow the road to Nice as far as Puget

Théniers (last shops, petrol station... before reaching Sallagriffon).

In Puget Théniers, cross the Var in the direction of Col St Raphaël, La Penne, St Auban-RD2211A-take the winding road for 18 km, always following the signs for St Auban- Our house is located outside the village, on the right of the RD2211A before the crossroads in the direction of the village of Sallagriffon.

FROM NICE :

From A8 - Aix Marseille - exit Nice St Isidore, follow signs for Digne/Grenoble

drive up the Var valley -RN202- to Puget Théniers -(last shops, petrol station... before arriving at Sallagriffon)- In Puget Théniers, cross the Var in the direction of Col St Raphaël, La Penne, St Auban-RD2211A-take the winding road for 18 Km always following the direction of St Auban- Our house is located outside the village, on the right of the RD2211A before the crossroads in the direction of the village of Sallagriffon.

BY GRASSE :

Leave Grasse on the RN85-route Napoléon- Direction Digne/Castellane, pass St Vallier de

Thiey, Escragnolles, at "Logis du Pin", turn right -RD2211A- towards St Auban, in St

Auban, follow the road to Puget Théniers via Briançonnet, Collongues for approx.

25Km- past the Sallagriffon crossroads by about 1Km, our house is on the left of the road. There's a blue sign "Les Ruchers de Sallagriffon -Miel-Pains d'épices -Gîte" at the entrance to our road.

From Grasse, there are hardly any shops on this road.

LES RUCHERS DE SALLAGRIFFON

Independent Accueil Paysan gîte on the first floor of our house. With a surface area of approx. 60m², it comprises a sleeping area with 2 single bunk beds, giving access to the bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom/WC. From the kitchen/living room (sofa bed), you'll have access to the shaded terrace, from where you can enjoy the calm, sunny garden.

We've been farming organically since 1995. We produce honey, wheat (peasant variety), and we also have ewes, for whom we harvest our own hay, as well as chickens and, of course, the farm dogs.

Territory description

Our farm is in the commune of Sallagriffon, a small village (50 inhabitants) in the middle of the mountains (alt. 700m), in the Grasse hinterland - in the Haut-Estéron valley. We're in the Préalpes d'Azur regional nature park.

Our valley, isolated and quite wild, is little-known. It's full of short hikes and canyons (we're close to the Aiglun and Riolan canyons).

25mn from Puget-Théniers, 40mn from Entrevaux, and 80km from Nice and Grasse (1h30).
