Description

Large gite, ideal for family gatherings or groups of friends, located in the heart of nature.

The gîte des bois is part of the former farm of Château de Blain, formerly known as "la ferme de la Groulais".

When we bought the site in 2003, the buildings were derelict, and we immediately imagined developing a gite on this magical site, located between Château de Blain and the Groulais forest, a very quiet spot surrounded by greenery, close to the Nantes-Brest canal.

In 2013, we submitted a building permit. And for the past few years, we've been welcoming families and groups who like to enjoy the surroundings without having to take the car.

We've taken great care to build the gite using environmentally-friendly materials: local wood, which we know well from our work, stone and lime walls, cellulose wadding and wood wool insulation.

We are committed to respecting the natural world around us.

A picnic area has been set up 400 m from the gite, in a wooded plot on the edge of the Groulais forest.

This activity is accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM).

The gite has the Tourisme et Handicap label. It was important for us to be able to offer this place to everyone.

A parking space has been designated for disabled guests, and a ramp provides access to the gite. Door thresholds have been adapted, and access has been provided to the pétanque court.

The walks starting from the gite are wheelchair-compatible.

How to get here?

To get to our gite, you'll need a car. The nearest town is Nantes, so you can arrive by train or plane, followed by a 30-45 minute drive. From the train station, you can take a bus to arrive just a few minutes from the gite.
