The sheepfold

To reach the hamlet of Le Frontal by car or bicycle:

• From the Rhône valley, go through Les Vans, up towards Brahic, (signposted Le Frontal haut exit Brahic), then continue towards Malons et Elze, past la Frontal bas, and turn towards Le Frontal haut, park in the parking lot, we're below at 60 chemin des fèdes.
• From Lozère, go through Villefort, towards Les Vans, then turn towards Malons et Elze( Mairie), at the crossroads go straight on towards Le Frontal( signposted Le Frontal haut).

To reach Le Frontal by train:

• From the Rhône valley, take the bus from Valence or Montélimar stations, direction Alès, and stop at Les Vans; we'll pick you up by car, or you can rent an electric bike at Les Vans.
• From the center, from Clermont-Ferrand or Paris, stop at Villefort or Génolhac, and we'll pick you up by car.
• From the south, e.g. Nîmes TGV, take the train to Génolhac or Villefort, and we'll pick you up by car.

On-demand transport: currently only cabs from Villefort or Les Vans.

The only regular public transport passing through Le Frontal is at school times (mornings/evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays - mornings/afternoons on Wednesdays).

We are no farmers, but we have chickens that lay eggs, and an organic garden. We know where to buy locally grown farm products. We rent 2 self-contained appartments for 2 adults(+ children) with separated toilets, and terraces looking over the valley and mountains.

"Malons et Elze" is located right in the middle of Lozère and Ardèche, in the "Cévennes" Mountains. Our house, situated in the place called "Le Frontal", at 600m height, with a magnificent view over a chestnut-trees forest and a river. The house itself used to be an ancient local farm. We rebuilt it with healthy building materials, solar panels and a wood-fuel boiler.
