♻️ WASTE SORTING:Several bins are provided to make sorting easier:
• Recyclables: packaging, bottles, paper, cardboard...
• Compost: fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, eggshells...
• Other waste: everything else—please place it in the designated bin
💧 CONSERVING WATER
Water is a precious resource, especially in Thiérache, where we’re committed to preserving our hedgerow landscapes. Here are a few simple steps: take short showers instead of baths, turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth, and report any leaks.
To water the garden and vegetable patch, we collect rainwater—an approach we’d love for you to adopt too!
💡 LIGHTS, STANDBY MODE & DIGITAL DEVICES
Remember to turn off the lights when leaving a room, and to unplug or turn off unused devices (TVs, chargers, etc.) rather than leaving them on standby.
Most of our electricity comes from our solar panels—every energy-saving action helps make the most of this clean energy.
🧺 LAUNDRY & MAINTENANCE
When using the washing machine, wash at 30°C whenever possible: this is sufficient for most laundry and helps save energy.
For cleaning, please use the eco-friendly cleaning products provided under the sink.
⚠️ NO BLEACH
Our cottage is equipped with a septic tank, an individual wastewater treatment system that naturally treats wastewater using bacteria. Bleach destroys these bacteria and can damage the system: please do not use it during your stay.

My structure
Nestled in an authentic Thiérache farmhouse in Hary, in the heart of the Brune Valley, our166-square-meter guesthouse welcomes travelers with a deep respect for nature and local heritage. Housed in the farm’s former dairy, it is located next to our home, offering a warm, family-style welcome where kindness and respect are our core values.
We’ve created a cozy interior where you’ll feel right at home. The terrace is a peaceful spot where you can enjoy meals or relax. Everything is designed to help you unwind.
Guests have access to our outdoor pool (open weather permitting), a garden, outdoor games, and of course, petting our animals is part of the experience (or not!).
Our animals: two ponies, a donkey, goats, sheep, and five magnificent Highland cows—not to mention our two dogs and our cat. Animal welfare is at the heart of our daily concerns, and our four-legged residents will delight guests of all ages.
For bike tourists: a locked barn is available to store bikes safely. Our guesthouse is located not far from EuroVelo 3 (the Scandibérique), just a few kilometers away, making it a great stopover for cyclists. It’s a great base for exploring Belgium, the Ardennes, or Picardy.
Our Eco-Responsible Commitment: Nothing is wasted; everything is repurposed
Here, every detail has been carefully considered to minimize our ecological footprint while offering authentic comfort. Most of our furniture is antique, sourced from flea markets and carefully restored. The renovation work was carried out by local artisans, with a view to supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon footprint.
Our facilities are powered by renewable energy; our organic vegetable garden provides produce and herbs; and we prioritize short supply chains by working with local producers. Our garden and orchard are cultivated with respect for biodiversity, providing a refuge for pollinating insects, birds, and local wildlife.
