Description

Gite in our house. Kitchen on first floor. 2 bedrooms with 1 double bed (140cm).

Separate entrance opening onto a courtyard. Equipped, functional kitchen. Bathroom and toilet, and on the 1st floor, the "butterfly" bedroom with a 140cm bed and the "sea airs" bedroom with 1 140cm bed.

When we retired, we installed a water recovery tank to supply the toilets, solar panels to heat our domestic hot water and underfloor heating. We decided to install double glazing and insulate the whole house from the outside.

In September 2021, an air-to-water heat pump will replace our old oil-fired boiler.

We're retired farmers. We like to talk about our former profession, which we did with passion and conviction. We like to explain the collective interest of the "Comté" industry, to which we committed ourselves and in which we immersed ourselves until our retirement.

Today, time is passing slowly without too …

Our eco-responsible and farming commitments

When the time came to retire in 2008, and our children took over the farm, we moved into this house at 5 route de Salins, in the village of Marnoz.

Our project: to carry out work to improve interior comfort and reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources.

Installation of solar panels for domestic hot water and underfloor heating. All windows in the house are double-glazed. Exterior insulation throughout the house: warmer in winter, cooler in summer and less noise.

Water, a recurrent problem of economy: we have installed a 3500 l rainwater recovery tank to which the 3 toilets and our personal washing machine are connected.

A family vegetable garden that covers around 50% of our consumption of natural vegetables and a "chicken coop" in which our 3 chicks peck and provide us with eggs. We supplement our purchases at a cooperative grocery store and via a "drive fermier" from organic producers in our immediate vicinity.

Gite Lamourette

Retired farmers, we'll be happy to talk about our former profession, which we did with passion. Our children have taken over the farm. We have a vegetable garden, a small orchard currently being renovated and a "roulailler" for walking our chickens through the orchard. Our gite has a kitchen on the ground floor. To get to the 1st floor, stairs lead up to the bathroom and 2 bedrooms.

We've been part of the network since 2000. To enable a young person to set up in business, we started selling meat directly from our herd: beef and veal, followed by pigs and poultry.

This period was rich in encounters and exchanges. Introducing people to our profession, taking the time to explain and demonstrate the many facets of farming.

Territory description

Marnoz, a village of 400 inhabitants with its bakery and famous "pain paillasse". It's 45 minutes from Besançon, Lons le Saunier and Dole.

To reach us, leave the N83 and take the D105 to the gite on the outskirts of the village.

Salins les bains is 10 minutes away, with its saltworks (a UNESCO world heritage site), thermal baths and shops.

Mont Poupet 853 m above sea level. Two prestigious Vauban forts stand guard.

Hiking, little beaches, lakes, forests and even snow if you go as far as the Haut Jura, 1 hour's drive away.

Museums: Pasteur in Arbois. Comté in Poligny. Vigne et Vin in Arbois. Courbet in Ornans. Machines for feeding and running the world at Claivaux les lacs.
