Our eco-responsible and farming commitments
Our environmental approach at La Piarra.
The way we run our tourism business is part of a more global approach known as Sustainable Development.
In addition to the economic and social dimensions, the environmental aspect is broken down into three areas:
- Equipment
- Consumption
- Encouraging sober pleasures and raising awareness of local environmental issues
Equipment:
- Solar water heater
- Selective waste sorting with composting station
Consumption:
- Minimized use of cleaning products, exclusively ecological
- Supply of home-made products (jams and bread) or products from short circuits (olives, cheeses, meat and dairy products, etc.).
- Promotion of local markets.
Invitation to sober pleasures and awareness of local environmental issues
In our welcome phase, we highlight the potential for hiking and biking from the gîte. We point out tourist attractions within a thirty-minute drive.
We promote best practices for swimming in rivers and visiting alpine pastures with guard dogs.
We invite you to meet our donkeys and enjoy talking about running our apiary.
As a tour operator, our pleasure lies in sharing the concept of " Happy Sobriety" through encounters with a mountain region that is rich in natural resources, both intrinsic and derived from agriculture that is far removed from the standards of "industrial" farming.
We are delighted to observe that this desire to share is very often an opportunity to satisfy expectations or awaken consciences.

Access by road is via the D61 from Luc en Diois to Rémuzat, then the D563.

Gîte La Piarra
La Piarra is a 12-person gîte, ideal for families or friends, for holidays or themed breaks...
If you're a member of an association, club or school involved in a hobby or personal development activity: music, cycling, yoga, astronomy... and you'd like to experience a high point in the practice of this activity combined with a moment of conviviality in a beautiful location, the gîte offers a room with a warm atmosphere, dedicated to these activities or to any seminar organization. (rental not included)
Massage, sophrology and laughter yoga are offered by Nicole (physiotherapist, sophrologist), who will be delighted to work with you to design the activities for your stay.
Using local cereals and natural sourdoughs, Laurent (a trained baker) offers bread baked over a wood fire in his bakery at La Piarra.
Adjoining the owners' home and not overlooked, the setting offers peace and privacy. The first floor is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Entrance hall with storage space for your hiking gear. Pleasant, bright living room with open-plan lounge and kitchen. Two adjoining bedrooms: 3 x 90 x 190 beds (including one bunk bed) and 3 x 90 x 190 beds. Bathroom (2 sinks, 1 shower. Two separate toilets. First floor: 2 attic bedrooms (2 x three 90 x 190 beds). Shower room (2 sinks, 1 shower). Separate toilet. Outside: Spacious garden (3000 m2) with petanque and badminton courts, swings, garden furniture, tables and barbecue. The garden is located on the other side of a little-used road. Our donkeys, Cosaque and Otavalo, and our cat, Titi, will be delighted to meet you...
From the gîte, you can go hiking with your dog (on a leash, as there are herds in the mountains!) We'll be happy to advise you on itineraries and lend you IGN maps.
