Territory description
Located on the island of Souzay, on the Loire River, 6 kms from Saumur and 12 kms from Fontevraud, in the heart of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park. Souzay, a Loire village of ancient troglodyte dwellings, is part of the "Saumur-Chamigny" wine appellation The Loire Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (cultural landscapes) The island is accessible by car (ford) from May to November. The path starts to the left of the parking lot below the Mairie, along the D947.
