In short
Description
Retired
You'll discover 2 centuries of family history that Jacques will be delighted to tell you about. He'll lead you through the vineyards at the pace of his cane, talking about grape varieties, winemaking and, of course, the wines of the Montravel and Bergerac appellations.
Elisabeth will take you on a tour of her natural vegetable garden (of course!), her flowers and her aromatic plants (perhaps you'll sample one of her delicious herbal teas from the garden).
A stroll under the century-old yew trees will lead you to discover the magnificent scenery overlooking the Dordogne valley.
When you arrive, enjoy the lime-lined driveway that leads to the house with its blue shutters.
The deckchairs invite you to daydream and listen to the birds.

CHÂTEAU LAROQUE
Retired biodynamic winegrowers on a five-generation family estate, we've been welcoming guests for the past twenty years in a large character house. Surrounded by parkland with century-old trees, the vineyard has been organic since 1987. Nowadays, unfortunately, the vineyards are becoming rarer.
We have two bedrooms upstairs, which can be rented individually or together. Both rooms have a shared bathroom.
There is also a large bedroom on the ground floor with its own private shower room.
Breakfast is served in the guest kitchen-dining room. We also offer the possibility of using our space to take meals on site, outside or inside, depending on the weather.
Our place is full of remarkable stories, and Jacques will be happy to tell you all about them, for over the past 5 generations, illustrious people have even stayed here. Chateau Larroque was a major site of resistance during the 39-45 war.
