In short
Description
Welcome in 2 guest rooms, in our old farmhouse built in 1761, at 650 m altitude in the Vosges mountains.
The large wooded plot surrounding our house is an invitation to explore the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park in greater depth. With the Plateau des 1000 étangs and its exceptional landscapes, a sign of respect for the balance between Man and Nature, you can discover small villages and scattered settlements with abundant springs, deciduous and coniferous forests populated by a diverse fauna, farmland with the maintenance of a peasant agriculture respectful of the environment. This unspoilt natural setting is ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities: hiking, cycling, Nordic skiing, fishing....
Historically, our region of Franche Comté, along with Flanders, belonged to the Spanish crown until the end of the 17th century. Today, our little village is resolutely European; some of our neighbors and friends, Germans, Belgians, Luxembourgers, Dutch and Swiss, have made it their home.

How to get here?
Our mid-mountain village is scattered. If you're using a GPS to get around, it's important to tell it the name of our hamlet: "Le Marchessant" or "Au Marchessang" (we come across both spellings!). The only name in our commune, LA MONTAGNE ( 70310 ), leads to our town hall, 2 km away... In winter, some roads are not cleared of snow because they are used for cross-country skiing, so it's a good idea to check before choosing a route.

La Fritillaire
At an altitude of 650 m in the Vosges mountains, our house and adjoining land are located in a small hamlet on a plateau overlooking the Croslière valley, a small mountain stream.
In keeping with the principles of "ecohabitat", we have created guest rooms in the upper part of the main building of our old farmhouse, built in 1761: capacity 2 people/bedroom.
Twice a century old, our house bears witness to a certain harmony between man and his environment. Local stone, granite or sandstone, and wood make up the original architecture, which has been preserved. The animal housing, barn and attic are all period features. To make the home more comfortable, we've used natural and recyclable materials. A separate entrance leads to the bedrooms.
The large wooded grounds surrounding our house are an invitation to explore the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park (PNRBV) in greater depth.
